HISTORIC TIVOLI

In 2022 Tivoli is celebrating its 150th Anniversary. Tivoli Artists Gallery is presenting the “Historic Tivoli” Show from Friday, July 29 - Sunday, August 21. Tivoli has a long colorful history with documentation starting from the 17th Century. The show will include historical photographs, historical maps, Tivoli inspired paintings and two presentations. Tivoli Artists Gallery has called this wonderful village home for over 25 years and we are super excited to present this show highlighting our love for this Historical Village.

Also, TAG is very honored to showcase the artwork of Tivoli’s own Mayor Joel R. Griffith. Joel has been Tivoli’s Mayor since 2015 and an artist since he could hold a crayon. As described in the Upstater “Joel is an accomplished painter, renowned for his moody, intricate, hyper-realistic depictions of upstate life, paintings that often reveal unexpected, haunting beauty in the ordinary”.

This will be the first time in many years Mayor Joel Griffith has shown his art in his home town. So please join us at the gallery reception on: Saturday, July 30 @ 5pm.

TAG is also very lucky to present two speakers giving talks about Tivoli’s history and the prominent Americans who have influenced Tivoli.

Show opens: Friday, 7/29 Opening reception: Saturday, 7/30, from 5-7pm

Presentations: Tivoli from Eleanor Roosevelt to Dorothy Day: Saturday 8/13 @ 6pm (Jim O’Grady, WNYC Writer, Reporter, Author & fellow Tivolian.)
