I’m originally from Indiana, my schooling took place in Colorado. I was primarily a painter early on, then I began working in clay. My focus lately is on upcycling, combining paintings with other media and rethinking pieces, with a huge focus on animals [many endangered] and the environment. I have made connections with many interesting people in my travels, and this has served me well and inspired my work.

As a child growing up in the midwest I was lucky to have an artistic family with interests in both art and music. I was able to create mud sculptures, play with wax, paint, and draw with lots of encouragement. In high school my work traveled as a gold key winner in the Scholastic Arts Competition through advanced art classes.
In college I wanted to take as many different art classes in as many mediums as possible and get exposure, with youthful visions of being famous. I picked up pottery right away and loved sculpture. A fresh start came with a big move from Colorado to New York after school. It was a bit eye opening, but I found art communities and was able to apprentice with Webutuck Pottery.
I became involved with Hudson Valley Artists groups and did some show circuits. I love painting and three-dimensional work equally and I have always enjoyed a wide variety of mediums.
I have been co-owner of a store/gallery, representing about 40 local artists and I have had work in stores in New Milford, CT, Milford, PA, Chappaqua, NY, Hyde Park, NY, and Cortland NY.
I have become more passionate about the environment, endangered species and the protection of wildlife. I look for ways to recycle/combine environmental pieces such as my clay figures and the sideboard of a dresser or combining climbing figures with window blinds. I really enjoyed working on one recent endangered animal series made with clay and painted backgrounds.
I will continue to explore all aspects of art and learning, and my work will continue to evolve —this I am sure of.
